Framed Sock Ghosts
Let’s make some Framed Sock Ghosts!
While perusing the aisles of the Dollar Tree I came across these adorable gold frames. Aren’t they great?! The best part about these frames, other than the pretty factor, is that they were $1.25 each! What a score!
Being that it’s September and I was feeling crafty, I headed over to look for some fuzzy white socks. My mind was racing with ideas, but I had settled on using these frames for a quick Halloween DIY!
I was envisioning a framed ghost and these socks were going to make that vision a reality!
All ghosts need eyes so after looking around for a bit, I decided on these chalkboard stickers. I figured I’d cut the size needed for the eyes (and mouths) and then I’d just stick them onto the socks. Easy Peasy.
Like any craft, I wasn’t sure how this craft would turn out or, for that matter, how long it would take.
I grabbed a pair of scissors and a hot glue gun and started in on my framed sock ghosts!
While cutting the bottom of my ghost(s), AKA the sock, I tried to give it some flow at the bottom so that it wasn’t a straight across cut…you know…because ghosts tend to fly. 😉
It also helped to turn the toe end of the sock around so that the toe seam was pressed up against the frame, basically parallel, and not poking out.
Next, I cut the eyes and mouth and believe me, my little cutting of ovals weren’t perfect by any means.
I then hot glued the back of the ghost(s) onto the cardboard of the inside frame area and then puffed out the inside of the ghost to give it a 3D illusion.
Check out how my little 3D framed sock ghost turned out! I was pleasantly surprised by just how cute and EASY this little DIY was. I made three of these in under five minutes, too! That’s what I’m talking about!
I’m telling you, this was THE easiest little Halloween craft EVER! Oh and for extra spookiness, I bought THESE ravens from Amazon. Why not, right?
Let me know what you think of this little Halloween DIY! Thanks for stopping by and have a spook-tacular day! 😉
Marie 😉
