DIY Faux Terra Cotta Pumpkins
Hi there, friends! It’s been just about seven weeks since I last blogged and I’m happy to be back at it.
Today I’m sharing with all of you wonderful readers this easy and fun Faux Terra Cotta Pumpkin Craft.
This DIY has been all over the place on Pinterest and Instagram, so I thought I’d give it a try and oh my goodness – look how cute!
I had exactly 5 1/2 minutes to get in and out of Walmart before having to pick up Jane from preschool. I was on a mission to find a pumpkin and wouldn’t you know it, I couldn’t find much. However, these cute little pumpkin lanterns caught my eye and being that the pumpkin selection was still a tad sparse, I bought three. They were $3.97 each…woohoo!
I darted to the other side of the store for some craft paint – I grabbed whatever I could paint I could mix in order to make a terra cotta look – Linen Toile, Pure Orange and Golden Sunset.
Paint, paint, paint!
I haphazardly painted all three and while they were still wet…
….I applied baking soda.
Now, one could wear gloves but I opted for messy hands mostly because…well…I was still on a time crunch. 😉
The baking soda was poured on over a cookie sheet as not to waste too much and then I gently rubbed and patted it onto the pumpkin lanterns.
That’s it!
I lit some candle and took some pictures and admired this quick and easy craft!
Look at those happy little pumpkins. 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
