The Monthly Meet Up!

It’s the first of the month and that means is time for, The Monthly Meet Up Linky Party, hosted by myself and Sara from Great Days of Hayes.

We’d love for you to join us and share your goals for the month!

So get out your computer/phone/paper/pencil and put on your plaid shirt, leggings, boots and throw your hair up in a bun…oh and don’t forget your caffeine (or wine – we won’t judge) and let’s conquer our goals!

Just like anything fun, we’ve gotta have some rules.  Ours are short and sweet:
  • Follow us and link back to us!  We’d love to connect with you, and you to connect with each other!
  • We challenge you – visit, comment and follow at least four other partiers.  Are you up for the challenge?
  • By posting, you give us permission to feature an image or post on our blog(s).  We’ll always give you credit and post links back, don’t you worry!

Ready, set, gooooo!

Can I just talk about the KonMari tidying up method again?

Okay, so this book isn’t for everyone, but it seems like it could work for me.

The more I think about the concept, the more I’m loving her method of tidying up.  I love the idea of going through my home and only keeping the items that spark joy.

I want need to “KonMari” my house.

EEK!  It’ll either work or it won’t.  LOL!  I’ll keep ya posted on this one. 😉

Family Yearbooks.

Once upon a time, I made a family yearbook.  It included Henry’s first year.  While pregnant with Eliza I worked on our second family yearbook, but it was never printed.

I’m now a couple of years behind, but I’d really, REALLY like to get those other yearbooks finished and printed.  There’s something about having an actual family album sitting around to reminisce and to share with family and friends.

I need new recipes…like yesterday.

If you remember from last month’s linky party, I had mentioned that Jon wanted to make a healthy lifestyle change.  I must admit that I’m struggling with it.

Last month it was my goal to support him and eat better.  Let’s be honest

I‘m failing miserably.

Here’s the thing, Jon and I are completely different when it comes to food.  To put it in dinosaur terms, he’s definitely a T-Rex.  I’m a slight omnivore, but I tend to lean towards being a Brachiosaurus…well sorta.  I mean, I like bacon, – if you invited me over for bacon and pancakes, I’d without a doubt indulge in that yummy bacon goodness (okay, that was confusing).

Let me try again…

Jon can consume chicken for breakfast and then again for dinner four times a week.  It’s just not my thing.  Jon’s a meat eating machine, where as I’m good with a loaf of slice of bread and a ton of appetizers.  We need to find better recipes so that we can incorporate healthy and delicious meals that we can both enjoy.

While I attempt to find those meals, check out this amazing caramelized onion and rosemary focaccia recipe!  It looks divine!

Hey, I deserve it, right!?

I need to find a dress!

I’m going to a BALL!  Yup, Sara and I and some friends will be attending a ball.  We’re so excited!  I need to find a dress, but I’m so indecisive when it comes to this kind of stuff.

I kind of want something that I wouldn’t normally wear.  The theme is vintage circus, so I feel like I could really step out of my comfort zone!

Here are a couple of dresses that I’m loving, but I’m just too scared to order/rent them!

Apparently I really like lace.  Thoughts?

My blog.

You guys, why am I so scared to move forward with this thing?  Does anyone else feel the same way?  I researched more last month about changing things up around here, but I feel like I just keep re-reading the same thing.

I just need to do it!

Don't waste your time on "coulda" "woulda" "shoulda". Spend your time on "DID!" #positiveenergy #BEACUTEPUG #funnelbox:

Okay, so here’s a question, do you think I should keep my current name or should I change things up around here and use my last name in my domain and change it to, The Koyl Cottage?

So, what do you think?

Any suggestions?

  1. Well, buy the domain at least for what you have now. Heck, it's really easy to do and you're on blogger and you can buy it directly from google. $11 done. I have a gala in Feb, so I'm glad you're dress shopping so I can find one too!

  2. I am so with you on the family yearbooks… I used to scrapbook, but now #AintNobodyGotTimeFoDat so I've been wanting to use Shutterfly or some other place to make some yearbooks. So far I've made… big fat ZERO. Hahahaha. It is on my long term to do list, though.

Oh girl, you MUST GET that second dress! It is stunning! And how exciting to go to a ball! We go to one every January so I'll be on the hunt for a dress very soon, too!
