Dollar Store Christmas Bells Makeover
Okay, guys – I’m REALLY excited about this craft! I’ve been trying to figure out how to incorporate bells into our Christmas home decor but without breaking the bank!
I headed to Dollar Tree and found these bells and some rope and headed home. After some thought, I was pretty certain I knew what I was going to do!
The first thing I did was cut off the pretty red ribbon.
Next, I painted on black paint and then starting dabbing black paint on top of the painted area. I suppose only the dabbing was necessary, but for some reason in my head, I thought I should do both.
*shrugs shoulders*
Look at the difference just by adding the black…
Gold paint was dabbed on next…
The bell was looking nice and antiqued…
The rope was next. I used tape to make it act like a needle so that it’d be easier to use through each tight space.
Next, I painted this dollar store curtain rod with gold paint. Once again, a lot of dabbing was involved…
I tied bells at unequal lengths onto the rod and moved the bells around until I was happy with how it looked.
…and voila! My happy little dollar store Christmas bells!!!
The curtain rod was $10.00 from another dollar store and each bell and bundle of rope was $1.25 each! For about $25.00, I was able to add so much charm to my fireplace. Bonus points if you have a shower curtain rod just lying around!
I’m so pleased with this project and I’d absolutely love to hear if you do one, too!
Thanks, as always, for stopping by!
