Hiking Essentials from Amazon

We took a trip out to Glacier National Park and Banff, Alberta, Canada in early August and we ended up purchasing fantastic Hiking Essentials from Amazon!

We found that hiking socks and hiking shoes and boots were helpful given muddy trails, puddles, dirt and light rain. Our shirts kept us warm in the mornings and protected us from the sun in the afternoons.

WATER, WATER, WATER! We had an abundance of water – water bottles and water bladder backpacks, an individual bladder and a water filtration system, just in case.

We did end up using a little first aid kit after Jane had tripped and hurt her knee. In fact it’s almost impossible to not trip, so I was surprised only one of the five of us had to break into the little first aid kit.

Everything came in handy and if it didn’t get used, well, we were happy to have it all on hand – better to be safe than sorry, that’s for sure!

One item we couldn’t buy ahead of time was bear spray. If you head out into the mountains in Montana you’re going to want to take some bear spray. Bear spray can be purchased upon arrival – we purchased two…you know, just in case! Yikes!! 😉
