Books I Read in 2024

“Each book was a world unto itself, and in it I took refuge.” -Alberto Manguel

I had the most exciting year of reading – I read and I read and I read some more! I’m happy to say that I set a goal… and well… weeeeeeeeell, I almost made that goal happen. More on that in a second. 😉

I’ve definitely taken refuge in my books over the past year. It’s been through books that I’ve done a lot of self reflection, healing, resting and thinking. I’ve been taken on adventures of all sorts and it’s kept my mind wondering, “what will happen next,” all while I wash the dishes, fold the laundry, drive, exercise. These books consumed my thoughts in the best of ways.

As for my reading goal for the year of 2024…

In total, I read 51 books – up until today I thought I had read 52 books – which also happened to be my goal for the year…buuuuuut it was 51. I accidentally counted one book twice! HUUUUUUUGE facepalm. Silly me. All I can do is giggle, and as Jon said, it’s just part of my story…and heck, I’m beyond proud of those 51 books!

Here are my thoughts on those books. They’re in no particular order…

Most thought provoking: The Midnight Library and In Five Years

Spookiest: Old Country

Most Heart-Wrenching: One True Loves AND The Last Letter

Smuttiest: Sovereign

Twisty and Smutty and Emotional: Pen Pal

Beautiful Read: True Colors

Fun Mystery: The Housemaid and The Boyfriend

Unexpected Great Read: The Secret Language of Stones

A Court or Thrones and Roses Series VS Throne of Glass Series: Loved Both, but Throne of Glass is my Roman Empire!

Best Colleen Hoover Book of the Year: Ugly Love – However, Verity is still my favorite book of hers.

Worst Book of the Year: A Jingle Bell Mingle

Overall favorite reads of the year: Throne of Glass series, Old Country and True Colors

Old Country

The Huntress

Part of Your World

Beach Read (This is the one I counted twice. Oops)

Just for the Summer

Thanks so very much for scrolling through! I’ve set my goal for this year at 30 books.

Have you read any of the books from above? Any reading goals for you? Any awesome suggestions? Do tell!

Marie 🙂
