Okay, so we’ve made it to June.
Eliza had just had her tonsils taken out and our days were equivalent to that of the flow of molasses.
We baked…
We blew bubbles…
We kept our Christmas lights up in June…
*faceplam*
Eliza decorated a cake…
The house looked like this most days…
The girls snuggled…
The cat snuggled…
I tried to stay awake amongst the mess, chaos, long nights with Jane and obvious demands from Eliza…
Eliza sewed…
This “sewing machine” is soooo fun, by the way.
…and sewed…
We played some more…
…and I can guarantee you that we didn’t brush Eliza’s hair for an entire week…
Henry snuggled…
…Jane snuggled Mama…
I FINALLY sent out thanks you cards from my shower (which was in February, mind you) and gifts that had been given to Jane back in March… but I did it! I was feeling accomplished…for a second.
I nursed and nursed and nursed… It only took me until my third kid to realize that grocery store changing rooms are excellent places to nurse a hungry baby.
We played some more and at one point my in-laws came over to play with Eliza while I could run a few errands with Jane.
…oh and look!!! Jane was finally starting to hold things!!! Oh my, I was beyond excited for this!
We had some rough days…
We had some sleepy days…
…these three kept me going. Summer had arrived, but it felt like we hadn’t really been doing much. Mama was itching to get outside and we were all going a little stir crazy.
Janie was gaining weight…
Henry had his Little Ninja recital…
…and guess what?!!
We escaped the house!!!!
After two weeks we finally got out and WOW – talk about freedom!
Eliza was thrilled!!!
I have NO IDEA what Henry is doing in this picture! Hahaha!
WooHoo!!!!!
Then – look at this!
Outside.
Water.
Fun!
Summer had officially arrived for us and we were no longer on house arrest!
Thank. Goodness.
We celebrated by spraying Jon with freezing water!
…and lake time…
…and swimming…
…and sunshine…
…and the park…
Things were looking up and everyone was seeming much happier. Jane’s face says it all.
We celebrated Daddy’s last year of him being in his 30’s.
We actually went to the store. All three of us!
The older two didn’t quite fit as well as they used to, but I told them to get in anyway for one last photo!
Jane was *thisclose* to rolling over.
We all headed to the park for a walk and bike rides…
It was nice to see this smile again.
Jane and I spent many mornings rocking on our front porch listening to the leaves sway in the wind and the birds chirping in their nests. I loved these mornings and Jane loved being outside.
We tried on clothes for our upcoming trip to Lake Michigan.
Happy girl.
Henry attended a STEM camp…
Eliza used to wear this onesie. It was one of my favorites!
Henry finished up his very last Ninja class…
I took the girls to the splashed while Henry attended camp…
Jane finally rolled over! The neighbor boys were here to see it happen in real time and we all applauded when it happened. Such a fun moment!
Jon and I took the girls to the park.
Henry finished up with camp and we beelined it to the splashpad – we had a lot of summer to grab!
…and frozen yogurt!
Up next – our annual trip to Lake Michigan…
along with the obligatory picture of a baby touching the cold Lake Michigan water.
We can’t NOT do it. Ha
Henry and Eliza didn’t mind the coldness, neither did the people behind them, apparently. 😉
My sister and I said, “Cheers!”
Henry took it upon himself to take this South Haven picture…actually multiple of this same picture…
Jane did her baby thing…
The kids did their kid thing…
The moms snuggled the babies…
We found out that there was E. coli in the water and that the beaches were closed for a day. Henry fell ill for most of one of the days. Poor boy…
The girls. Oh my the difference…
Henry started to feel better. Thank goodness. We visited the Farmers’ Market.
Jane was doing more of her baby thing – you know – being a cute baby…
Cousins…
Smiles…
Happiness…
More smiles…
Daddy smiles…
Ice cream smiles…
…and more kid fun…
Family…
…and that, my friends, was June.
Okay, we’re half-way to six months for Janie Baby! Stay tuned for July!
Thanks, guys!
Marie 🙂
