Friday Favorites – Winter / Ski Essentials
We’re hitting the slopes next Friday and when thinking up my Friday Favorites for the week I started to think about all the items we’ve purchased these last few years for our snow skiing fun…and, well, for winter here in Michigan in general. Now, for the record, I’m the absolute WORST skier known to man – LOL, but I participate the best that I can… apparently by making purchases online for said ski trip. 😉 Hahaha! I’ve told Jon on more than one occasion that I never intend on getting any better at skiing! LOL! I’m not even kidding…if my family didn’t want to ski, I’d never do it again. *shrugs shoulders*
Last year we skied up in Boyne City, Michigan and the temp was 9 degrees at 9:00 a.m. just in time for when the kids had to be out the door for lessons. It. Was. Cold. Even the people working at the ski resort mentioned how cold it was, so it must’ve been cold, cold, cold. Brrrrr….
We layered more layers than we had ever layered before and we learned more about what we needed for our next trip!
Here we are letting the hot cocoa warm our bones last year; sans ski gear…
Fleece lined pants for the kids were a must!
Jon’s fingers were about to freeze off last year, so this year I gifted these heated gloves to Jon at Christmas.
We all have these hats/face covering so that we’re able to wear our helmets all while keeping our nose, ears and neck warm and toasty.
Fleece leggings for Mama!
Goggles are a must on the hills, especially when the sun is out!
We all wear these tops, with the exception of Jane (she just layers as of right now). I love my Under Armor Cold Weather Top!
Jon bought me this coat this year for skiing. I’ve yet to try it out, BUT the reviews are telling me that I’m going to love it. 😉
These gloves, you guys. We’ve always struggled with snow getting inside the kids’ coats and freezing out their little arms, but these long gloves solved that issue! Toooootally worth it and I will never not own these for the kiddos!

….and of course, our beloved ski socks! To be honest, years ago I didn’t even really know ski socks were a thing…
…but they’re great and we love them and they’re worth having!

Brian and I used to go skiing every year before we had kids and I was always terrible at it. Haha. I can't imagine taking my kids… they'd probably be whizzing by me and making me feel bad about myself. Hahahaha.
