We’ve had a busy week over here, but it’s been a good one. Actually, the weeks are only going to become busier and busier until the kids get out of school in June. I’m trying to take it day by day. Does anyone else feel like May is as busy as December?
Okay, so, let’s get on with what this past week brought us!
ONE
Quinoa Recipe
I posted one of our favorite go-to recipes this week. This Quinoa Bowl is so healthy and delicious. I love these kinds of meals because I feel full afterwards, but not heavy.
TWO
Rub n’ Buff
Our home decor has changed quite a bit over the years. We’ve changed out some lighting, but this light hasn’t changed due to Jon wanting to wait for an electrician – it has two switches that lead to it and if memory serves us right, when this fixture was last installed it took the electrician a little longer than usual to get it up and running. So, as you can imagine, we don’t won’t to mess with it.
With that being said, I’ve decided to use Rub n’ Buff on it so that it’ll match more of our aesthetic (my friend, Sara, would be proud of me using that word). I’m going for a Coastal Grandma trend, with a hint of farmhouse/lakehouse living – have you heard about this style? I’ve never felt so understood!
That’s Jane in the background questioning what I was about to do… LOL!
Here’s a picture of the space.
As you can see, we’ve changed out the front foyer light and the dining light for more of a cozier vibe.
I’d loooove to get our kitchen backsplash changed over there in the right hand corner. But, one thing at a time…
As you can see, the fixture just doesn’t match. I’m hoping that by giving it an “Ebony” finish that at least the colors will go together.
THREE
DOLLAR STORE PLANNER
As I mentioned above, these next six weeks are going to be kind of nuts. My current planner is a mess AND the calendar stops in June, so I grabbed this cheap pocket planner from a dollar store. I think I’ll be investing in a fancy planner come fall, but for now, this should work just fine…I hope.
Here I am taking an out-of-the-shower picture without a lick of makeup on me just in order to show you these under-eye patches.
I love the cooling sensation of these patches and given that I have very dark circles under my eyes, I’ll try almost anything to help alleviate the darkness.
FIVE
THE KIDS
The kids have had a good week!
Henry was voted Student of the Month by his classmates.
He’s so very kind and empathetic. I wish all of you could meet him. He’s an old soul and he has the best intentions to do good in this world. He makes us so proud and everyday I’m sure to tell him just how proud he makes us.
Eliza has been in desperate need of some new clothes.
I recently ordered a few items from Old Navy and I went to Walmart to grab a couple more essentials for her.
These pajamas are from Walmart and they’re so cute, so of course we took a post bath/shower photo op!
Jane has become quite the little shadow. Anything Eliza says or does, Jane must do the same – hence the hand on her hip and picture!
Jane and I headed to library story time on Tuesday and we painted with shaving cream. She loved it. I’ll let the smiles in the pictures do the talking…
I designed the unit you see below and it was finally time to post a little bit about smaller units that can be found on Amazon, well basically anywhere these days!
My original blog post about this entertainment unit can be found here.
Phew! What an amazing week!
Thank you so very much for stopping by – I appreciate your support and friendship!
Happy Friday, Friends! Somehow this week flew by for us over here! I’m so grateful that it’s FINALLY February – the second part of January started to draaaag. I’ve been busy taxiing the kids around and on Tuesday I got in a great leg workout. In fact, it was so great that it’s taken until…
You guys, I’m soooo behind on all-things-blogging. We’ve have a busy summer over here, that’s for sure. And now our kids head back to school in a little over two weeks and I’m not quite sure how I feel about it. One part of me is all sad and I’m SURE there will be some…
This post contains affiliate links. It’s Friday and once Henry is out of school for the day our spring break will officially begin. Oh man…I NEED this break…the kids NEED this break. I seriously can’t wait! Being that it’s Friday also means that I get to share with you my Friday Favorites. Let’s go! {one}…
Hey there friends! Happy Friday! I’ve been busy crafting and decorating and loving all the fall and Halloween things! I’ve also realized that I have a lot to share from our summer and the start of the school year and I’m hoping to share and get up some blog posts next week! In the meantime,…
Happy Fri-Yay! Our kids don’t have school today and I’m so grateful because I feel like we all needed an extra day off from the hustle and bustle! Who’s with me?!? We had a nice week. I crafted, Jon and I went on a date, I participated in Prime Days over on Instagram and I…
Hey, Hey, Hey! We’re still in Florida for spring break. Today is our last day and then tomorrow morning we leave early, like 4 a.m. early. Yikes! We plan to head to the beach again today and then I’ll be coming back to the rental to wash a bunch of clothes, clean up and pack…

Aw, congratulations to Henry! That is so special! I got some gold under eye patches recently, too, but I STILL haven't tried them. I need to bust them out because I have giant bags under my eyes all the time. I was born with them so I highly doubt the patches will help, but I'm going to try! Haha.

Thanks so much! He was so proud and we were so happy for him. He's such an amazing boy. As for the patches, I mean, at least they look fancy! Haha!
