Weekend Recap

Happy Monday!
I’m somehow not feeling well again.  I was hoping it was just allergies, but my chest hurts and I have a lingering cough (yet again).  Jon and Eliza weren’t feeling their best last week either and Henry has had a fever for the last three nights in a row accompanied by a cough.  Ugh.  I really don’t want to wish away the week, buuuuuuut is it the weekend yet?  We’re in need of some serious R&R over here.
We’ve been trying our best to stick to plans and keep the momentum of all-things-fall going.
Eliza asked that we get out our giant dry erase board and the kids and the neighbor boys have really been enjoying it!
I walked into Eliza’s room the other day and found all of these sweet doll things out and about.
She had her doll bathtub filled with a little bit of water and I found that she had been bathing her babydoll.  Not only that, but she put out a couple of sweet outfits, too.
I’m thinking somebody is getting excited for a real baby…  🙂

This sunrise.
Isn’t this gorgeous.  It was gone as fast as it came, but I was happy I put down my coffee, stood up, took in the view and snapped this pic…
A surprise arrived on our front porch.
Our sweet neighbors to the north of us are from Ohio and the house they own on our street is their summer home.  Jon and I brought in their trash a handful or times or so this summer and to our surprise they gifted us with this sweet package of treats!
So sweet and so good!
The kids and the neighbor kids hosted their much anticipated apple cider stand on Saturday morning.
They had a really nice time and I’m sure they’re already looking forward to their hot cocoa stand!

At noon we sat down to watch the Michigan / Michigan State football game, but there was a weather delay and the game didn’t actually start back up until 1:52.
It was a loooong day of football, but it was all worth it!  We won!  Michigan is looking better than anticipated and the season is really starting to get exciting!  At one point during the third quarter I removed my Michigan earrings because they seemed to be causing bad luck and anytime I wore them last year Michigan lost!  Sure enough, magic started to happen after I took out my earrings!  LOL!  Needless to say, I won’t be wearing those earrings anymore!  😉 😉 😉

Later Saturday evening I turned on Hocus Pocus.  The kids have seen the movie before, but that meant that they knew what to expect.  Henry, as you can see, was loving it!  LOL

They actually did watch the majority of it.  I asked them to say, “cheese,” as you can see, they didn’t want to look away from the tv…
Once the kids were asleep, Jon and I turned on 48 Hours and I fell asleep and woke up on the couch several times, so Jon headed to bed, but as he left I stayed up to watch the ending.  Once 48 Hours ended I happened to see on Facebook that Ohio State was losing to Purdue!  Oh my gosh – it was so exciting, sure…a little sad, but exciting!!!  I woke up Jon to tell him the news and he came out to the living room to join in on the celebration!

The next morning we woke up and met up with my in-laws at a cider mill.
It was another cold, cooooold day, but we added layers upon layers of clothing and had a great time!

We’re basically wearing our closets here.  LOL!  I really should purchase a maternity coat!

All the cousins!

Grandma and Grandpa with their grandchildren!

Hayride!

Inside the mill!

What a great weekend, coughs and fevers and all!  We made it through.  Phew!
The kids have a half day of school today and the week isn’t look as busy as last week – thank goodness.
Here’s to some rest when we can get it!
Cheers (clinks my tea/coffee and Henry’s acetaminophen together)!
Stay healthy, friends.  🙂
Marie 🙂
